What is the Linux+ Certification?

The Linux+ certification validates technical competency and provides a broad awareness of Linux operating systems. Those holding Linux+ certification demonstrate critical knowledge of installation, operation, administration and troubleshooting services.

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Identify the purpose of a Linux machine based on predetermined customer requirements
• Determine what software and services should be installed
• Partition according to your preinstallation plan using fdisk
• Select appropriate networking configuration and protocols
• Create users and passwords during installation
• Reconfigure X-Window with automated utilities
• Load, remove, and edit list modules
• Identify and change file permissions, modes, and types by using chmod, chown, and chgrp
• Perform administrative tasks while logged in as root, and by using the su command
• Monitor system log files regularly for errors, logins, and unusual activity
• Describe troubleshooting best practices
• Identify proper procedures for diagnosing and troubleshooting peripheral devices
