About This Course

This course provides a view of the extensive functionality that is available with the Human Resources application. The class focuses on the setup of Human Resources, including entering employees and related records into the application. It also discusses the process of benefit enrollment for employees.

The class also covers the Attendance and Applicant features that are available to you when you purchase Human Resources. This class is for customers that have chosen to use the Human Resources product without the Payroll module.

Prerequites

Before attending this course, it is recommended that students have:

• Some working knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains
• Some basic understanding of Human Resources law and regulations

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students should be able to:

• Effectively use the Human Resources setup windows to customize the application to your organization's needs
• Complete the global setup windows
• Complete the organization setup windows
• Set up benefits in Human Resources
• Enter employee records
• Create employee related records
• Track employee related items such as employee skills, property, discipline etc.
• Enroll employees in benefits
• Use Attendance to track employee absences and time
• Create Attendance accruals and accrual schedules
• Enter applicants
• Track applicant related information
• Use position requisitions
• Use the hire function to move applicant data to the employee file
• Print reports and use inquiries to access Human Resources data
