About This Course

This one-day instructor-led course provides students with an overview of some of the features and functionality of Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007.

Audience Profile

This course is intended for information workers who want to learn intermediate-level SharePoint Designer 2007 skills.

Prerequites

Before attending this course, students must have:

• Basic computer knowledge, such as keyboard and mouse skills.
• Basic file-management skills. The student should know how to navigate to folders and files on a computer running Windows Vista.

Before attending this course, students should complete Course 50207A, Learning Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 Step by Step, Level 1, or be able to:

• Use SharePoint Designer to carry out common tasks.
• Explore a SharePoint site, a Web page, and the SharePoint Designer workspace.
• Use toolbars and task panes.
• Create a SharePoint site hierarchy.
• Delete a SharePoint site.
• Insert text, ScreenTips, hyperlinks, Web components, and images.
• Add client-side interactivity.
• Create a table layout.
• Create a Basic Meeting Workspace site.
• Create a Web Part page by using a browser.
• Create an ASP.NET page.
• Change the default page for a Web site.
• Delete a Web page.
• Create a list.
• Modify a built-in List View page or List Form page.
• Create a List View page.
• Create and customize a List View Web Part.
• Insert a Web Part zone.
• Add a Web Part and modify Web Part properties.

In addition, students should understand the following products, services, and concepts:

• SharePoint Designer and Windows SharePoint Services.
• The relationship between Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Server 2007.
• Complications of upgrading customized SharePoint sites.

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students will know how to display content from an external data source on a SharePoint site, and how to work with many types of data sources including XML and RSS.
