About This Course

Elements of this syllabus are subject to change.

This two-day instructor-led course is designed to expose students to the three key elements of the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF): the MOF Process Model, the Team Model, and the risk models. This course also helps students to understand the purpose of MOF by giving the context of its development and describing how MOF builds upon the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to achieve its goals.

This course is intended for IT professionals.

Prerequites

Before attending this course, it is highly recommended that students have:

• Taken the ITIL Foundations course or have equivalent knowledge

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Describe the major challenges now facing IT operations, and the MOF approach to service management.
• Explain what ITIL is and describe how MOF builds on ITIL.
• Explain the basics of the MOF Process Model, its four quadrants, and the mission of service for each quadrant.
• Explain the MOF Team Model and the mission, key responsibilities, and needed staff competencies for each role cluster.
• Explain what the MOF Risk Management Discipline is and why it was implemented, as well as describe how the MOF Risk Management Discipline is applied to operations.
